THE REVIEWS ARE IN
VIBE Magazine
You've
been thinking about that special someone whose about to come
over, and you need some mood music to, ahem take it to the bridge.
Calm-down and throw in Britt Prentice. Now sit back and allow his
Luther Vandross-ness to take effect.
.... Prentice's album is the perfect theme music for zonecoasting you
know, like doing a buck ten down a nighttime highway. "Mirror of
my Soul"
speedballs through every sector of falling in love with radio-friendly
but
soulful I tracks.... Become a believer.
Almanac
... Prentice has a melodic, soulful voice, especially
impressive are his
background vocal tracks.
Music Monthly
... is a radio ready batch of contemporary
& R&B "Thru the Motions" has 2
incarnations, both pulled of with aplomb, with Prentice's urgent high
voice
leading the way. "Love is a Mutual Thing" is an easy groove
accentuated
by cool sax tones. "Hug Me Baby" brings it down to a slow
burn, as does
"Give me your Love". His background vocals are to be admired,
blending
effortlessly. "Luv I Feel" invites you to get up and dance,
and "ASAP"
switches gears to a slow dance. There's an outstanding acapella
treatment on "Slammin Anthem" commonly heard before ballgames-sports
teams/leagues are you listening?.
"Mirror Of My soul an emotional, well thought out and sincerely
performed CD. However, it is Britt's sheer knack for the art of songwriting
that brings it all together so effectively.
